START WITH THE APPEARANCE YOU WANT

Compare Matte, Gloss & Soft-Touch Finishes

Matte gives a less reflective appearance; gloss gives more shine. A soft-touch finish adds a tactile feel. We can send suitable samples so you can compare these options in person.

Choose a reference for the whole bag, then identify any areas that should look different. Review the options with the proposed material and print route before finalizing the order.

What to compare for your coffee bag
Finish directionWhat to discussWhat to confirm on a physical reference
Matte appearanceA less reflective surface, the visibility of dark colors and the clarity of small details. The actual film and finish, color appearance and visible marks during handling.
Gloss appearanceA more reflective surface and how the printed design looks under display lighting.Reflections, color appearance and the legibility of text and codes on the finished bag.
Soft-touch feelA tactile surface similar to an approved physical reference, if suitable for the proposed structure. The feel, available construction, handling requirements and any effect on the full bag specification.
Selected glossy or decorative areasWhich logo, pattern or panel should have a different surface effect. The available process, placement, alignment, sample route and any additional setup or cost.

Review one reference under the conditions that matter

Look at the sample under your retail lighting and handle it as you would during packing or display. Check the main brand colors, small coffee information, seams and folded panels. If consistency across several coffees matters, use the same agreed reference for the range.

TURN A VISUAL IDEA INTO A CLEAR SPECIFICATION

Specify metallic-looking and decorative details

A gold-colored logo, a metallic-looking background and a foil-applied detail are different specifications. Share the intended effect and the areas where it should appear so we can review a suitable route and sample requirements.

Metallic appearance and foil

Show us the gold or silver effect you want. We can explain the available printing or foil options, prepare the artwork and quote any extra setup. The metallic barrier film inside a bag is a separate choice from its decorative surface.

Selective gloss and raised details

Mark the areas you want to highlight and send a physical reference if possible. We will explain the selective gloss or raised-effect options available for your material, including sample preparation and setup costs.

White, clear and colored areas

Tell us which areas need white ink and which should show the film or remain clear. Our team can prepare the artwork layers and color separations for the selected material.

FINISH AND PRINTING BELONG IN THE SAME BRIEF

Choose the printing route with the surface specification

We select the printing method and finish together. Your film, quantity and number of coffee designs help us recommend a combination and prepare the quote.

Digital printing

Discuss digital printing when you are comparing smaller first runs, several coffee designs or artwork that may change. Review which surface combinations are available for the proposed material and how samples will be approved.

Gravure printing

Discuss gravure printing for a planned coffee range and repeat-order needs. Review cylinders, color separations, design versions and the selected finish as part of the full quotation.

Compare the complete quotation

Ask for the print route, material and finish to be stated together. Quantities, preparation, samples and decorative setup can affect the quotation. Avoid comparing two bag prices when their specifications or included items differ.

FREE DESIGN FOR THE BAG YOU WANT TO MAKE

No finished artwork? Start with free design support

We can develop your coffee bag design from a logo, coffee information and visual references. Design support includes unlimited revisions and free layered production files after you approve the design.

1. Share the coffee range and finish references

Tell us about the coffees, intended bag format and the look or feel you want. Send an existing package or physical reference if you have one. Unknown dimensions or material details can be discussed as the brief develops.

2. Develop and revise the artwork

Work through the brand layout, coffee names, variants and printed panels. Identify any proposed white areas, metallic-looking details or finish placement so they can be reviewed with the chosen construction.

3. Check the design on the bag template

Review folds, seals, openings and accessories alongside the artwork. Check the readability of text, label spaces and code positions. Use the project template and production requirements rather than a generic bag layout.

4. Approve the design and receive production files

After design approval, we provide the layered production files free of charge. Agree the physical reference, sampling and final specification separately. Printing cylinders, decorative tooling and other physical setup are project quotation items.

From the finish brief to sample review

Bring the appearance you want together with the material, print route and artwork. Approve the design files, then use the agreed physical reference or sample route to review the finished appearance.

REVIEW THE SURFACE AS PART OF THE WHOLE PACKAGE

Bring the finish together with the complete coffee bag

The same artwork needs a separate layout review when the bag format or dimensions change. Consider the printed panels, folds and finish placement together with how you will fill, seal and display the bag.

Flat bottom coffee bags

Review the front, back, side and bottom panels on the actual template. Keep important artwork and any selected finish areas clear of folds, seals and accessory positions.

Stand up coffee pouches

Review the front and back with the bottom gusset, opening and any zipper or valve. Check how the finish looks on the filled pouch and how labels or codes will be used.

Side gusset coffee bags

Review the front, back and folded sides in both flat and filled form. Leave practical space for sealing, date marking and any closure or valve.

Barrier and environmental requirements

We choose the barrier layers and accessories alongside the finish. Tell us your coffee protection needs and whether you want recyclable or compostable materials, and we will explain the compatible options.

MATCH THE APPROVAL TO THE QUESTION

Review physical samples and supporting documents

Use screen artwork to review information and layout. Use a physical reference to discuss color and surface appearance, and a finished bag to check the package in use. Agree what each approval covers before production.

Choose the sample route

Similar-material samples are free. Custom sample fees are refunded when you place an order. Confirm sample availability, which features the sample will represent, the preparation time and shipping arrangements for your project.

Check the bag in your workflow

Handle the sample during packing and display, check the areas used for labels or date marking, and try the relevant filling and sealing steps. Agree any surface-durability checks and acceptance criteria rather than assuming a finish is scratchproof.

Production takes 7–12 days and shipping takes 7–10 days. Door-to-door delivery with taxes included is available. Confirm sampling, preparation and your delivery plan with the quotation; production and shipping are separate stages.

COFFEE BAG PRINTING & FINISHES FAQ

Questions about coffee bag printing and finishes

Start with the appearance you want, then confirm how it will be made and approved on the chosen bag.

1. What is the difference between matte and glossy coffee bags?

Matte describes a less reflective appearance; gloss describes a more reflective appearance. Compare physical references on the intended material and under your display lighting. Neither word alone specifies the full bag construction, printing method or durability.

2. Can I request a soft-touch coffee bag?

Yes. The MDOPE/PE stand-up pouch above is one soft-touch bag we have made. Ask for a sample, then tell us your size and material preferences. We will explain the compatible options for your order.

3. Can a matte bag have selected glossy areas or a raised detail?

Show us the areas you want to highlight and send a reference. We will explain which processes work with your film and artwork, along with samples and any additional setup costs.

4. Does a gold or silver design mean the bag is foil stamped?

No. Metallic-looking graphics can represent different artwork and material choices. Ask for the actual process to be identified. A foil or metallized barrier layer within the bag is also a different specification from a decorative effect on its surface.

5. How should I describe white areas or a clear background?

Mark the areas that need white ink and those that should show the material or remain clear. Our team can prepare the print layers and separations for the film you select.

6. Can I choose the same finish with digital or gravure printing?

Review the finish with the selected material and printing route. The available combinations and approval arrangements are project-specific. Compare your quantities, design versions, preparation and repeat-order needs with the complete quotation.

7. Can I start without finished artwork?

Yes. Send your logo, coffee information and visual references. We provide free design with unlimited revisions and free layered production files after design approval. Physical printing or decorative setup follows the project quotation.

8. Will the colors and finish match a screen image?

A screen image is useful for layout and information review. Display settings and viewing conditions affect color, and a screen cannot provide the feel of a surface. Agree a physical color and finish reference and the sample approval route for the actual material.

9. Can I use labels, barcodes, QR codes and date marking?

Tell us where and how each will be used. Review placement, contrast and the applicable label or marking method on the selected finish. Check reading or scanning on the relevant physical bag; do not use a screen scan as the only approval.

10. Does a matte or glossy finish change barrier performance?

A finish name does not establish the bag's barrier performance. Review the complete structure, seals, accessories and intended use. Any stated performance needs the relevant specification and supporting information.

11. Does a matte, glossy or soft-touch bag qualify as recyclable or compostable?

We offer different material structures with matte, gloss and soft-touch finishes. If you want recyclable or compostable bags, we will help you select compatible films and accessories, explain the available documents and check the intended disposal conditions.

12. Are matte or soft-touch surfaces scratchproof?

Do not assume that any finish is scratchproof from its name or photograph. Handle a physical reference in your packing and display conditions. Agree the relevant durability checks and acceptance criteria for the proposed product.

13. Can I review samples and packaging documents before ordering?

Similar-material samples are free, and custom sample fees are refunded when you place an order. Confirm sample details, timing and shipping. Applicable packaging and certification documents are provided privately on request; ask us to confirm their product scope.

14. What should I send to confirm the MOQ, price and delivery plan?

Send the bag format, coffee weight or size, material needs, finish references, quantities per design, artwork status and destination. Unknown details can be discussed. Production takes 7–12 days and shipping takes 7–10 days; confirm preparation, samples and delivery arrangements with the quote.
