CHOOSE THE PROCESS AROUND YOUR COFFEE RANGE

When Is Gravure Printing a Good Choice?

Gravure, also called rotogravure, prints from engraved cylinders. Small recessed cells hold ink, a doctor blade removes ink from the surface, and the remaining ink transfers to the packaging material. The artwork and color separations determine the cylinder preparation that needs to be reviewed.

For coffee packaging, consider the complete project: how stable the artwork is, how much of each design you need, which material and finish you want, and how you expect to reorder.

A stable core coffee range

Share the designs you expect to keep in production, including blends, origins and required text. Stable artwork is a useful starting point for discussing gravure preparation and future orders.

A planned production volume

Tell us the quantity for each design and how often you expect to reorder. We can quote the bags and cylinder preparation, then compare the cost with digital printing for your actual specifications.

Brand colors and a defined appearance

Identify the colors, printed details and surface finish that matter to your brand. Agree on a physical reference and the review method for the selected material.

CONFIRM THE ARTWORK BEFORE PRINT PREPARATION

Plan cylinders, design versions and repeat orders

We prepare gravure cylinders from the approved artwork and color separations. Send every design with its bag size and quantity so we can identify shared elements and the separate preparation each version needs.

Tell us what stays the same across your range and what changes. Confirm the cylinder requirements, related charges and approval steps in the project quote.

FREE DESIGN · UNLIMITED REVISIONS · FREE PRODUCTION FILES

No finished artwork? Start with free design support

You can start without a complete coffee bag layout. We provide free packaging design, unlimited revisions and free layered production files after you approve the design. Share the brand and coffee information you already have, and we can help develop the artwork for the agreed bag.

1. Share the coffee range and bag brief

Send your logo, coffee names, required text and any visual references. Tell us the planned bag format, quantity of each design and the details you still need help choosing.

2. Develop and revise the design

We help arrange the brand, coffee information and graphics across the bag panels. Review the proposals with us and request revisions as the design develops.

3. Check every printed panel

Review the wording, design version, colors and positions against the bag template. Include folds, seals, the valve, closure areas and any codes that need to remain readable.

4. Approve the design and receive production files

After design approval, we prepare the free layered files for the agreed bag dimensions and print requirements. If the specification or artwork changes, ask us to review the files again before the order proceeds.

AGREE WHAT EACH APPROVAL WILL CHECK

Review color and print on the selected material

Share any Pantone reference, approved printed bag or other physical color target that matters to your brand. Review whether the intended appearance can be achieved on the proposed material and finish, and agree how it will be assessed.

Screen artwork is useful for checking text, layout and versions. It does not by itself approve the color or feel of the finished coffee bag.

Brand Colors, White Printing & Backgrounds

Send your key brand colors and tell us if the design needs white printing, clear areas or a metallic look. We will review the film and color separations, then agree a physical reference for critical colors.

Matte, gloss and decorative details

Compare matte, gloss and decorative effects with physical samples. Show us any foil or selective finish you want, and we will explain the options for your film, artwork and printing method.

Registration, fine text and codes

Check how printed elements align, including details close to folds, seals or accessories. Provide the approved barcode or QR content and intended use. Agree how readability and scanning will be checked on a physical finished sample; a code that scans on a screen is a different check.

PRINTING IS ONE PART OF THE FINISHED PACKAGE

Bring the artwork together with the complete coffee bag

We supply flat bottom coffee bags, stand up coffee pouches and side gusset coffee bags. Review gravure printing alongside the format, dimensions, material structure, valve, closure and filling method for your order.

Flat bottom coffee bags

Plan the front, back and side panels as a coordinated layout. Check the folds, bottom construction and closure areas against the actual template.

Stand up coffee pouches

Review the main printed panels, bottom gusset and space for filling and final sealing. Confirm the position of the valve or reclosure in the proposed specification.

Side gusset coffee bags

Check how the artwork wraps around the front, back and side folds. Review information that may move or become less visible when the bag is filled.

Material, barrier and sustainability direction

We select the film, ink, finish and accessories to suit your coffee and intended use. If you want recyclable or compostable materials, we can explain the compatible options and available documentation for the finished construction.

USE THE RIGHT REFERENCE FOR EACH DECISION

Review samples and supporting documents

Free samples of similar materials are available. Custom sample fees are refunded when you place an order. Tell us what you want to check, and confirm the sample scope and any shipping costs.

Choose the sample for the question

A similar-material sample can help you discuss feel, format and construction, but may have different artwork or accessories. For a custom printed sample, agree which artwork version, material, finish and bag details are represented.

Check printing and the bag in use

Review printed colors, text and panel positions alongside actual filling, final sealing, opening and handling. Ask us to confirm which reference and checks apply before you approve the production specification.

Request the applicable documents

Relevant factory certifications and supporting food-contact documentation are available on request and can be shared privately for your review. Tell us the intended market, packaging use and documents you need. For an environmental claim, also request the information applicable to the complete bag and intended route.

QUOTE THE RANGE, PREPARATION & COMPLETE BAG

Plan Your First Order & Future Reorders

You do not need every specification settled before contacting us. Start with what you know, then review the print route and quote around the details of your coffee range.

Quantities and versions

List the quantity of every design, which text or graphics differ, and which designs you expect to reorder. State whether the bag dimensions and material will be shared across the range.

Cylinder and print preparation

Confirm the artwork version, color references, cylinder requirements and any related charges. Ask what the quote includes and what must be reviewed if the design, material or bag size changes.

The finished bag

Share the format, approximate dimensions, coffee type and fill weight, material direction, finish, valve or closure requirements, and filling or sealing method.

Before a repeat order

Provide the previous approved artwork and bag specification. Confirm whether cylinders are available and suitable for reuse, whether any details have changed, and which preparation charges, if any, apply.

Production and delivery

Production in 7–12 days. Shipping in 7–10 days. Door-to-door delivery with taxes included is available.

Discuss design, cylinder preparation and sample plans separately when arranging the order. Confirm the delivery destination and timing with our team; the production and shipping periods are separate from those preparation stages.

QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU APPROVE THE PRINTED RANGE

Gravure coffee bag printing questions

1. What are gravure printed coffee bags?

They are coffee bags whose printed artwork is produced using engraved cylinders, also known as rotogravure printing. The complete order still needs an agreed bag format, material, dimensions, artwork, finish and accessories.

2. When should I compare gravure and digital printing?

Compare them when reviewing your quantity per design, the stability of the artwork, material requirements and repeat-order plans. Gravure needs cylinder preparation; digital printing does not use those engraved cylinders. Ask for a project comparison rather than relying on a universal quantity or price threshold.

3. What is the minimum order for gravure printed coffee bags?

Send the bag size, material, artwork plans and quantity for each design. We will confirm the minimum and price for your specifications, including the cylinder preparation.

4. Are printing cylinders included in the free design service?

Free design, unlimited revisions and free layered production files after design approval are included in our design support. Physical printing cylinders and other production preparation have separate project terms. Ask us to confirm the cylinder requirements, charges and quote inclusions for your order.

5. Can several coffee designs share the same cylinders?

Shared brand elements do not automatically mean complete designs can share the same cylinder preparation. Send every artwork version, the quantity of each design and the common bag specification. We can review which elements are shared and which changes need separate preparation.

6. Does changing a coffee name or small text affect gravure preparation?

It can. A small visible change may alter a printed element or color separation. Send the revised file and identify the affected designs before approving a new or repeat order; confirm any file, cylinder or preparation changes in the quote.

7. Can existing cylinders be reused for a repeat order?

Ask us to review the available cylinders against the approved artwork and current bag specification. Reuse depends on the version, dimensions, condition and project requirements. Confirm availability, any preparation charges and the applicable retention arrangements before relying on a reorder plan.

8. Can I start without finished artwork?

Yes. Share your logo, coffee information and any design references. We provide free packaging design, unlimited revisions and free layered production files after you approve the design for the agreed bag and print requirements.

9. What should I send if I already have artwork?

Send the files and approved coffee information, then confirm the design version for each bag. Review the layout against the agreed dimensions and template, including folds, seals, valve or closure areas, important colors and any codes. We can help prepare the free layered production files after design approval.

10. Will printed colors match my screen or photograph?

A screen or photograph is not a final physical color reference. The material, finish and viewing conditions affect appearance. Share the colors that matter to you, and agree on an appropriate physical reference and review method for the proposed bag.

11. Can I request white areas, matte or gloss finishes, or decorative effects?

Yes, include those requirements in the brief. We will review the artwork, material and proposed print route together, including any white or clear areas and sample requirements. Confirm the achievable appearance and quote inclusions for the specific configuration.

12. How do bag format, material and accessories affect the print brief?

We print all three formats. Our designers arrange the artwork around the folds, seals, valve and closure. We also help you choose the film for coffee protection and sealing, with recyclable or compostable options where suitable.

13. Can I review samples and packaging documents before ordering?

Free samples of similar materials are available, and custom sample fees are refunded when you place an order. Confirm the sample scope and any shipping costs. Relevant factory and food-contact documents are available on request and can be shared privately for review.

14. What production and shipping times should I plan for?

Production takes 7–12 days and shipping takes 7–10 days. Tax-included door-to-door delivery is available. Design approval, cylinder preparation and any samples are arranged before production; tell us your destination and launch date so we can plan the full schedule.
