START WITH THE PROPOSED STRUCTURE

PE- and PP-Based Coffee Bag Materials

We have made coffee bags using both PE- and PP-based films. The examples below show how we combine these materials with different bag shapes and accessories.

PE-based projects: MDOPE/PE

We use MDOPE/PE for PE-based coffee bags. Our finished examples include a digitally printed 12 oz stand-up pouch and a 1 kg side gusset bag with a PE valve.

We will explain the film layers, barrier features and accessories proposed for your order. You can use those details to check acceptance with the recycling program in your sales area.

PP-based project: MOPP/VMOPP/CPP

We made the 12 oz flat bottom bag shown here with MOPP/VMOPP/CPP film, digital printing, a valve and a zipper. It shows a PP-based option with separate artwork panels.

PP and PE are different material families. A PP structure is not automatically eligible for a PE film collection stream. Confirm a suitable route for the actual PP packaging before deciding on recycling instructions.

What a mono-material description tells you

Mono-material describes a bag based mainly on one material family. We will explain the barrier layers, coatings and accessories as well, so you can check the finished construction against your chosen recycling program.

START WITH YOUR COFFEE AND PACKING CONDITIONS

Plan protection, filling and bag format together

Tell us whether you pack whole beans or ground coffee, the net weight, your filling process, storage conditions and target protection period. These details help define the bag structure and the checks needed for your project.

We help you choose barrier layers, the sealing film and a suitable valve. Ask for the available material information, then try the proposed bag with your coffee and storage conditions before setting a shelf-life claim.

Stand up coffee pouches

A bottom gusset provides a standing format for your coffee range. Review filled shape, headspace, zipper and valve positions, and the final sealing area with a sample.

Flat bottom coffee bags

A flat base and multiple panels give you space to organize brand, coffee and disposal information. Confirm the dimensions, panel layout and selected accessories for the proposed material.

Side gusset coffee bags

Expanding side panels offer another format for retail or wholesale coffee. Review the filled bag, seal arrangement and valve position for your packing process.

CONFIRM HOW CUSTOMERS CAN HANDLE THE FINISHED BAG

Match the packaging to your sales market

Tell us where you sell your coffee and the collection program you want customers to use. We can share the bag’s material details and help you prepare instructions specific to that program.

US store drop-off

Some PE film packages qualify for participating US store drop-off programs. Check your finished bag against the program’s requirements, including emptying or preparation instructions, before using a store drop-off label.

Curbside collection

Check your local curbside program’s guidance for flexible coffee bags. Its rules may differ from store drop-off. Use instructions specific to the program that accepts your finished bag.

If the route is still uncertain

Tell us your sales locations and preferred material. We can help you compare bag structures and supply material information while you check the local collection options.

START WITHOUT FINISHED ARTWORK

Free design for your custom coffee bags

Share your logo, coffee information and design ideas. We provide free design and unlimited revisions. After you approve the design, we prepare layered production files free of charge for the confirmed bag dimensions and printing requirements.

Organize the bag panels

We can work through brand elements, coffee details, required text and the space reserved for approved disposal instructions. The layout should fit the selected format, folds, seals and accessory positions.

Review packaging claims before approval

Use wording and labels supported for the agreed bag and sales market. Share any applicable approval or label-use requirements so they can be considered during artwork preparation.

Confirm the print requirements

Discuss the proposed printing method, artwork versions, colors and finish with the bag specification. Review a sample or proof as agreed for your project before production.

QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU CONFIRM THE SPECIFICATION

Recyclable coffee packaging questions

1. What does recyclable coffee packaging mean for my order?

We help you choose a bag construction for an intended recycling stream. The film, valve, closure and finish all matter, and the collection program in your market must accept the finished bag. Ask us for material details before preparing customer instructions.

2. What is the difference between PE and PP coffee bags?

PE and PP are different plastic families. We have made bags using MDOPE/PE and MOPP/VMOPP/CPP films. Each needs a suitable collection route; check PP bags with a PP-compatible program rather than using PE-film instructions.

3. Does a mono-material description prove that the bag is recyclable?

Mono-material describes the main plastic family. Collection programs also consider barrier layers, coatings, adhesives, inks and accessories. We can share those details so you can check the finished bag with your chosen program.

4. Can I tell customers to use store drop-off for any PE coffee bag?

Check whether the finished bag qualifies for the particular store drop-off program. Ask about emptying and preparation instructions as well. We can supply material details for that check.

5. Can customers put these bags in curbside recycling?

Confirm the local program's guidance for the actual flexible bag. Store drop-off and curbside are separate collection routes. Do not extend instructions for one route to another without evidence of acceptance.

6. Can foil-lined or metallized coffee bags be recycled?

Aluminum foil is incompatible with the standard PE film recycling route. Metallized features need their own assessment of the complete structure and intended route. Identify the full specification and supporting information; a metallic appearance alone does not establish a bag's composition or recycling acceptance.

7. Can a coffee bag have a degassing valve?

Yes. We have made PE- and PP-based bags with degassing valves. We choose the valve material and position with the film and your coffee requirements, and include it in the finished-bag material information.

8. Can I add a zipper or another reclosure?

Yes. We can help you choose a zipper or other reclosure that suits the bag format and film. We position it for customer access while leaving room for filling and the initial heat seal.

9. Will a recyclable direction provide the barrier and shelf life I need?

Tell us your coffee type, packing process and storage period. We can help you compare suitable barrier structures and samples. Check the bag with your coffee under the intended conditions before approving a shelf-life statement.

10. Which formats and sizes can I discuss?

We make stand-up pouches, flat bottom bags and side gusset bags in custom sizes. Tell us the coffee weight and how you fill the bag. The 12 oz and 1 kg examples above can help you compare formats before trying a sample.

11. Can you help with artwork and recycling labels?

Yes. We provide free design and unlimited revisions, then free layered production files after design approval. Disposal wording and third-party labels need supporting information and any required permission for the agreed bag and market before artwork is finalized.

12. What documentation can I request?

Relevant factory certifications and supporting food-contact documentation can be shared privately on request. For a recycling statement, specify the evidence you need and confirm whether it covers the film, components or complete bag, as well as the intended market and claim.

13. Can I review samples before ordering?

Free samples of similar materials are available, and custom sample fees are refunded when you place an order. Confirm the sample scope and any shipping costs. Use samples to review filling, sealing, accessories and artwork with the appropriate documentation.

14. What are the MOQ, price and delivery time?

MOQ and price are confirmed for your format, material, dimensions, printing, accessories and quantity per design. Production takes 7–12 days; shipping takes 7–10 days. Door-to-door delivery is available with taxes included; confirm the schedule, destination and costs covered by your quotation.
